TL;DR Moving from VVF to VCF changes who owns the complete service outcome. A platform team must connect requests, identity, network policy, placement, lifecycle, observation, and recovery into an operating

Continue ReadingMoving from VVF to VCF: Is Your Operating Model Ready?

TL;DR A VCF fleet needs shared operational visibility and consistent controls without erasing each instance’s local responsibility. Decide which identity, lifecycle, observability, and automation services belong at fleet level, then

Continue ReadingVCF Fleet Operations: Shared Services and Local Control

TL;DR Multicloud service delivery needs a contract for each workload’s placement, identity, network paths, data flows, lifecycle, and recovery. VCF can support the private-cloud portion of that operating model, while

Continue ReadingVCF Multicloud Operations: Workload Contracts and Lifecycle Decisions

TL;DR Workload-domain operations need clear decision rights before teams can safely increase the pace of change. Define which lifecycle, failure, security, hardware, capacity, and ownership needs justify a separate boundary.

Continue ReadingOperating VCF Workload Domains: Decision Rights and Day-2 Controls

TL;DR The practical hybrid-cloud decision is where a workload should run and what must be validated before it moves. Connect VCF, NSX, and public-cloud execution through explicit network, data, identity,

Continue ReadingVCF and NSX in Hybrid Cloud: Workload Handoffs and Validation

TL;DR Core, edge, AI, and recovery environments need consistent service contracts without assuming that every workload belongs on one platform. Define how each service is requested, placed, secured, monitored, changed,

Continue ReadingVCF Across Core, Edge, AI, and Recovery: Service Contracts and Ownership

TL;DR Hybrid private cloud failures often appear at the boundaries between compute, storage, networking, platform services, and operating teams. Make those layers and handoffs explicit before introducing broader automation. This

TL;DR Edge infrastructure should not be operated as a collection of miniature data centers. It should be operated as a distributed fleet. The rally-raid image provides a useful mental model.

Continue ReadingVCF Edge Fleet Operations: Local Control and Resilient Recovery

TL;DR A high-performing private cloud is not defined by how quickly an administrator can click through a change. It is defined by how consistently the organization can observe conditions, make

Continue ReadingVCF Day-2 Operations: Standardized Changes and Service Validation

TL;DR Hybrid workloads need explicit placement, ownership, and recovery contracts across private cloud, public cloud, AI infrastructure, edge, and recovery environments. A shared operating model should connect their policies and
